Web Developer
Job Responsibilities:
- Advise and direct the selection of the most appropriate technology solution. The choice of technology stack lies with the successful candidate.
- Specify, design, and implement social networking support (user profiles, groups, community, forums, etc.)
- Specify and implement interfaces to Xulu's proprietary data-base
- Integrate 3rd party solutions for e-commerce (online marketplace, secure payment system, etc.)
- Develop and implement support for a rich website, including real-time feeds, video, images, audio, in-world event management, etc.
- Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical goals and solutions
Job Qualifications:
- Broad, deep, proven knowledge of web-based and internet technologies, particularly back-end development. Experience with front-end programming is a definite plus.
- Minimum of BS in Computer Science or a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in networking/socket programming
- A passion for gaming and/or online socializing
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Use best practices to write and document quality software
- Comfortable with a startup environment
- Experience in any of the following area is a plus:
- C++ programming and debugging on Windows using Visual Studio
- Flash, ActionScript
- Computer game development
Software Engineer
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of BS in Computer Science or a related field.
- Must be fluent in C++ programming and debugging on Windows using Visual Studio.
- Strong mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and numerical methods are essential
- Experience in any of the following areas is a plus:
- 3D graphics, DirectX, shader programming
- Computational geometry
- Applied physics
- Parallel processing
- Networking, sockets programming
- Computer game development
- Avatar development
- 3D tools development
- A passion for gaming and/or online socializing
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
